The Real 'Tech Bro'

The Real 'Tech Bro'

Introduction

Yaayyy! I'm very excited about starting this. For a long time, I’ve looked forward to doing this. Writing about what I am up to, tutorials, opportunities, and everything in between. This will likely be strictly techy, but I could spice it up with some other things occasionally.

I won’t assume that everyone knows about Technology. The whole thing could be very confusing if not well understood.

Actually, there are some persons who think that "Tech" is all about coding, and once they are not writing "Hello World", they believe they are not doing "Tech".

There are also people who start calling themselves "Tech Bro" because they wrote a few lines of code. A practice that's common in my country, Nigeria.

Why Tech?

Technological innovation is to the end that a problem is solved. In simple terms, it is about solving a problem.

There are series of processes involved in getting problems solved; starting from analysis, designing, implementation, etc. One is incomplete without the other.

Don't marginalize one for another. The person designing an interface is as important as the programmer.

I'm certain many of us have noted particular problems around us; things that you think can be done better.

For instance, where I school, all vehicles entering the school’s front gate, are usually tracked and counted. A security personnel is in charge of executing this task of manually (with a pen and notebook), recording each vehicle that passes through.

It could be burdensome, and very stressful. I feel pity seeing those who have been assigned to fulfill this task.

Now, the pity is not the solution, rather, it could be a start of finding a way to help. How such processes could be automated and done faster.

This should be the mindset of everyone.

Tech has made life easier for a lot of us, and it is our own responsibility to do likewise.

Don't just be about the money, be intentional about solving problems within your immediate environment.

Think! Think! Think!

I'm passionate about young minds coming into this industry, with the intention of solving global problems, and problems around them

This is what I’ve done, many times. I really love to see that life is easier for people. I don't cut corners, but I always look forward towards a way to make things better for people.

This should be your mindset too.

And if you're in for the money too, all good and fine, but remember that, the end goal of being in tech is to solve problems.

Endless possibilities

There are endless possibilities of solutions that you can create. Just imagine it, and it is achievable.

Every technological innovation is to the end of solving a problem.

Do you know the reason for that e-commerce website? It's to put an end to a problem created by a particular need.

Do you know the reason for the social media platforms you use? They connect people together, irrespective of their location, tribe, gender or status.

No innovation was made to impress anyone, it was made towards the end of solving a problem.

I will stop here today. Next week, I’ll tell you about some Tech niches you can look into, and start learning the craft.

Thank you for reading!
